Meet Joshua Hutter, software project manager at FMTC!
How long have you worked at FMTC? What is your current role?
I have been working at FMTC since April 2021. I’m currently the software project manager for the tech department.
What do you like most about your job?
I am a software engineer by trade, and this job allows me to continue both doing the technical developments of the job as well as helping to ensure project completion. I enjoy looking at the big picture, even though it is fun to go down the rabbit hole of dealing with databases.
What is the best career lesson you’ve learned so far?
Separating my “business” side from my “personal” side. Having the ability to take constructive criticism to improve my work without it affecting my personal feelings on any matter. This allows me to continually grow and challenge myself to do better.
What do you like to do when you aren’t working?
Video games have always been a big passion of mine, and I enjoy playing with my family. Soccer is my favorite sport to follow (Go Bayern Munich!). When it isn’t too hot outdoors, I enjoy throwing meat on the grill and tossing the ball with my dog.
What’s a fun fact about you many people may not know?
In my first year of college, I was selected through my choir as an Ambassador of Music for Arizona that allowed me to travel Europe for two weeks. I traveled to places like London, Paris, Switzerland, Germany, and Italy, singing in venues such as St. Matthew’s Church.
Where’s your favorite place in the world?
My favorite place is Switzerland. It was a nice and quiet place that had beautiful scenery and great chocolate.
What’s your motto or personal mantra?
“Everyone has a happy ending. If you are not happy, then it is not the end.”
What are three words that best describe you?
Intelligent, hard-working, and “dad joke” master.
What is one thing you can’t live without?
My family. I am a lucky man to have a beautiful wife and two lovely daughters.
What is your hometown?
Born in San Diego, California. Raised in Arizona, and currently residing in Texas.
