Cycling has changed dramatically since we opened in 1964, but we never wavered from our total dedication to the sport. Today, Mike’s Bikes is a growing family of bike shops, all with a singular purpose: to get as many people on bikes as possible.

Two wheels, so much appeal

Our mission is simple: get more people on bikes! Founded in Marin County, California in 1964, Mike’s Bikes is now a family of 12 wildly successful bike shops, employing over 250 cycling enthusiasts and putting more than 25,000 new bikes on the road every year.

We offer road bikes, mountain bikes, electric bikes, kid bikes, and active bikes as well as bike components and accessories, apparel, and service by Wheelsmith-certified technicians and mobile bike mechanics for wherever you might be.

Why Mike’s Bikes?

Why shop with us? Because we know bikes and we care. We don’t sell snowboards, we don’t sell kayaks and we don’t sell tents. We only sell bikes – you might even say bikes are our life.

Why does that matter? Because this utter fanaticism for our product makes us the best at what we do – we live to create cyclists!

Everyone deserves a bike

To underline our goal of putting as many people as possible on bicycles, the Mike’s Bikes Foundation has helped distribute over 26,000 bikes throughout southern Africa since 2008.

Safe with our knowledge

People are both turning to their local bike shop and diving into bike-unseen purchases online. Most bikes purchased online arrive unbuilt, but not everyone is a bike technician. That is why we offer Wheelsmith Gold Label Assembly on almost every bike we sell.

Compare models, price tags, and features between brands and bikes and use our chart to figure out your size. You can contact us whenever you want to ask all the questions you can think of.
