Do These 2 Things to Spring Into Productivity

spring clean productivity

productivity With the lovely feeling of spring weather in the air, it’s the perfect time to clean up your workspace.

Both literally and figuratively!

We’ve all done a little spring cleaning around our homes and love the result. I’ve recently been doing this with my closets and cannot tell you how great it feels to have everything in the right place with no clutter.

We can do the same thing with our workspace and resources to increase productivity and clearly see what we have to work with.

Clean Out the Dust Bunnies

The first step to spring cleaning is to clean up your desk/workspace. This means going through your files, paperwork, and drawers. Throw out anything you don’t need anymore – seriously, throw it away! Don’t hold onto things that just take up space. If you have a stack of business cards, put the contact info in your email contacts and toss ’em. After you’ve purged your workspace of unnecessary clutter, freshen up your space by reorganizing it with plenty of room to work and spread out if you need to.

Let Your Ideas Bloom

The next thing you can do is take a mental inventory of what you’d like to achieve.

Do you have goals or ideas you want to work towards to take your company or department to the next level?

Create a list of what you’d like to accomplish and post it in your workspace, like on a whiteboard. This way, you can always remind yourself of what you’re working to achieve and focus on your goals. It’s easy to get carried away with small tasks and responsibilities and miss the big picture of what you’re working to fulfill.

Spring is the time of new life and renewal, so take a little time to freshen up your workspace. Clear away anything that might be holding you back and set your mind on success. Once your workspace is clean and goals are defined, you’ll be on your way to a more productive working environment!
