FMTC best practices for promoting deals on fmtc

This week, I’d like to give you some information on the best way to promote your deals with FMTC. We aim to accurately get all of your deals added and updated for you in a timely manner. If you did not know already, our Data Engineer team tests, edits, categorizes, and formats deals before adding them to our feed. By doing this, we provide correct, clean, and standardized data for your program(s).

Here are some general tips on how to get your deals promoted:

    • Use Text Links – Currently, we do not pull banners from the networks, so be sure to enter your offers as text links.
      • Note – If your program is on Awin, please add links to the My Offers section.
    • Include Dates – Please include start and end dates to each promotion. If there is an end date missing, we usually have to contact the program rep to obtain the expiration date. This can result in your deals being available in our feed at a later time. If the deal is non-expiring, it would be helpful to state that in the label or description.
    • Update Deals – If there is a change to a deal, (e.g. expiration dates, product prices, terms and conditions, etc.) be sure to update the information in the network. Our system detects any changes to labels or coupons. Then, our data entry team reviews the changes and makes the appropriate updates. Wondering how often we update? We pull data from the API every 30 minutes or so and we make changes as we receive them.
    • Include Terms & Restrictions – Does your offer has a minimum purchase requirement or is not valid on certain items? If so, please be sure to include that information in the ad copy or description. Many times offers are put in a hold queue until we can contact the program manager to verify a non-working code, which is usually due to undisclosed exclusions or minimum requirements.
    • Use Coupon Codes – Many of our clients use the Coupon Mini feed which gives them access to all offers that include a coupon code. If you’re able to add a code to an offer, please do. This will help your offer reach more publishers and get posted on their sites. Also, many customers search for codes when shopping online.

*Reminder – Easter is Sunday 4/21, so be sure to add all your “eggcellent” Easter offers! People will belooking for Easter gifts, apparel, food, house & home items, decorations, shipping offers, and any other deals for this holiday.
