Affiliate Summit West Tips to Keep You on Track

Affiliate Summit West is held in the marvelous Paris Hotel & Casino in the heart of the Las Vegas strip. If you’ve never attended, it can seem like an overwhelming whirlwind, so I’m here to provide you with helpful tips. Even if you’ve gone numerous times, I hope these tips will make your trip easier.

Tip #1 – Create Your Schedule Now

It’s easy to forget about scheduling meetings and thinking about your trip in the middle of December with Christmas right around the corner! But the summit will be here before you know it and you’ll want to have your schedule created with what sessions you want to attend and meetings.

I highly recommend using the ASW Pathable platform where you can add sessions and request/accept meetings. This keeps everything together in one handy-dandy location. It also prevents you from double-booking or scheduling a meeting during a session that you really want to attend.

Tip #2 – Get Organized

The worst thing you could do is show up to the conference unorganized. It will make meetings, networking, and learning unnecessarily difficult. Not to mention you’ll want to pull your hair out! One thing that I’ve found extremely helpful is bringing a small notebook filled with the following items:

1.Print-out of Company Info – When you’re meeting face-to-face with people (especially after a night on the strip), it can be easy to go blank or leave out important info in your conversations. Here at FMTC we have multiple products that I may not know inside and out like other members of my team. If someone asks a question, I want to have all the right info. So, I print out the basic info for our company, including an elevator pitch, and important details of each product we offer. It’s kinda like a cheat sheet that you’ll be happy you have!

2. Meeting Schedule & Notes – Print out your schedule so you can easily reference it without having to rely on your phone or laptop battery to check when and where your next meeting is. It also helps you get a good visual of your schedule. I’ve also found it extremely helpful to print out note sheets for each meeting. I put the day/time, name & company of attendee(s), location, and 5-6 lines of note space (make more if you need). It can look something like this:

3. Business Card Holders – Make sure you have LOTS of business cards in an easily accessible location. I keep them in the front zipper of my laptop bag in a business card holder. I also place all the business cards I receive in my notebook with these great business card pages I found at my local office store:

Tip #3 – Make a packing listpacking-list

To make sure you have everything you need, make a packing list of what you’ll need to bring to get you through the whole summit without having to take a trip to the store. I usually start a list on my phone and add to it as I think of more things I’ll need to take. On the right is a sample list of what to bring that FMTC members created.
