“For centuries, marketers have struggled to understand exactly which of their marketing programs and touchpoints deliver value. Many companies are now in the process of modeling and measuring cross-channel attribution across their businesses. Unfortunately, partner marketing data — including affiliate sales activity — hasn’t always been a part of those models.”
“As an affiliate manager, the more successful your affiliates are, the more successful that you are. Keeping that in mind, the more you help your affiliates, the more you are helping yourself.

“Can you think of your favorite product? It could be anything. A wine-opener. A microphone you plug into your laptop when dictating notes? A quirky table-lamp. The point is, the list would be endless. Now imagine if you could sell these products on behalf of someone and get a decent commission on every single item sold? This is the essence of affiliate marketing, and it has been taking the world of e-commerce by storm for the past few years. Why? Because it harnesses the potential marketing power of social media. Here’s how your business could boost from it.”

“Underscoring the importance of mobile, Google recently announced it has begun to notify more websites of the migration to mobile-first indexing. That means the search giant will predominantly rely on the mobile version of the content for indexing and ranking in search query results. Those with mobile sites only, will see a significantly increase in crawl rates from the Smartphone Googlebot.”

“As a global account manager, I get to work with people from more than 15 different countries across Latin America (LATAM). That can mean more than 15 different ways to convey the same message. Since even small misunderstandings can halt progress on a project, people call me to iron out cultural differences and make sure conversations move forward.
Having lived and worked in both LATAM and the United States, I’ve come up with a practical system that supports the third component of Acceleration Partners’ Performance Partnerships® model (an ongoing relationship). If you’re interested in tapping into LATAM—the third-largest e-commerce market—then I believe these two ‘hacks’ will help get you where you want to go.”

“Execution is only half the battle for search engine optimization (SEO) success; you also have to measure and analyze your campaign effectively. Unfortunately, some search marketers get so caught up in their ongoing execution that they botch the tracking portion, or aren’t skilled enough in data analysis to produce an accurate, insightful report.
So why is tracking so important in the first place, and what are the biggest mistakes to watch out for?”

“An article from publisher Bloomberg has caused some controversy within the affiliate marketing industry, claiming that ‘affiliates’ have been using Facebook ads to not only push ‘shady’ products online but also make a significant amount while doing so.”
“Doesn’t this sound like a business opportunity that is too good to miss? You have a favourite product you can’t stop enthusing about to friends and family. Then you find out the retail company selling this product worldwide are inviting small traders to sell this on their behalf, no strings attached, with the incentive of a slice of commission on every sale. In a nutshell, this is how affiliate marketing works. But before rushing into any venture it always pays to take a step back and don your objective hat. So here are the various pluses and minuses associated with this form of trading.”

“Most request for proposals (RFPs) for affiliate program management include a laundry list of questions. Everything from ‘what’s your team structure’ to ‘what processes and procedures do you have in place for compliance monitoring.’
It’s not that these questions aren’t important. The issue is that, if the questions aren’t pointed or substantial enough, it’s too easy for vendors to hide serious deficiencies or risks behind a general, well-written response. In fact, many agency RFPs encourage creating writing, which can obscure answers about the stability and scalability of the prospective partner.
The intended goal of an RFP is usually for advertisers to not only get a clear sense of the services being offered, but also the quality of those services.”
